During an official visit to Japan, Mohamed Abdel Latif, the Egyptian Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with his newly appointed Japanese counterpart, Yohei Matsumoto, to discuss strengthening the educational partnership between the two countries.
The meeting began with the Egyptian minister congratulating his counterpart and expressing Egypt's keenness to benefit from Japan's leading expertise in education development. Also present were Dr. Hani Helal, Secretary-General of the Egyptian-Japanese Partnership, Ambassador Ragi El-Etreby, and Dr. Hanem Ahmed, the minister's advisor for international relations.
The two sides reviewed the significant progress: the opening of 14 new Egyptian-Japanese schools last year, the development of mathematics curricula to conform to Japanese standards, and the introduction of programming and artificial intelligence into the curricula for the first year of secondary school through the Japanese "Kiryo" platform, in cooperation with the "Sprex" Foundation.
Matsumoto praised Egyptian initiatives, particularly the agreement with Hiroshima University for international accreditation of programming curricula and the TOFAS certification, commending Egypt as a global leader. He also affirmed Japan's full support for Minister Abdel Latif's efforts to expand cooperation.
The meeting also addressed the implementation of the letter of intent in technical education and support for people with disabilities, and the follow-up on the outcomes of the recent TICAD conference, to enhance the strategic partnership and exchange experiences.
A positive step towards better education for our generations! #Ministry_of_Education_and_Technical_Education
